Central Corridor Walking Tour
The first of two Central Corridor Walking Tours hosted by the San Francisco Planning Department was held on June 1. A crowd of several dozen gathered in SoMa to listen to a variety of speakers organized by SF Planning, including Central Subway External Affairs Manager Brajah Norris who discussed the Central Subway’s future impacts on the study area including the new Moscone Station at Folsom St and the subway tunnel portal underneath the I-80 overpass. The tour route took attendees down 4th and 5th streets highlighting visions for the corridor in the areas of jobs, housing, retail, arts, and pedestrian safety. SF Planning’s Central Corridor Project area roughly correlates to the Central Subway alignment on 4th Street.

SF Planning's Central Corridor Walking Tour kicked off with a large group at 4th and Howard in SoMa.
The second walking tour will be Wednesday, June 8, at 5:30pm starting at the southwest corner of 5th and Mission streets (see the planned route map). For more information and to help spread the word about this opportunity to learn more about visions for SoMa, please indicate your intention to attend at the tour’s Facebook event. The event is free and open to the public.
