Construction on the Central Subway project continues in Chinatown.

We started installing dewatering wells along Stockton Street between Sacramento and Jackson.   This is in preparation for the Chinatown Station.  The purpose of the wells is to remove water from solid material when excavation is being performed in the near future.   The contractor will dig approximately 150 feet deep to install the wells.   This activity is being performed Monday through Friday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.    The well are anticipated to be completed in September when day time work hours are slated to resume.

The drill rig is parked in the metered spaces during the daytime and weekend hours.
